This is no scientifc argument- I do not have one all I have is my rather limited experience as a Father. My First Daughter is now nine days old and she is quite frankly incredible, as any parent would say of their own flesh and blood.
What got me thinking about evolution was when my Daughter was born, I could not comprehend the idea that once billions of years ago this little life in front of me so precise, so designed, so brilliant was ultimately the offspring of some monkey (spare the jokes).
That billions of years had led to evolution of species resulting in monkey to man as depicted above (please note adaptation within species for sure, no issue there), I took one look at her and the words that left my mouth were “No Chance.”
My Daughter before me was evidence of a creator, she was valued, loved and designed with care, in Psalm 139 it says this,
“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
When you look at a newborn child (though some are ugly) its is a marvel of God’s creation, to see little hands, feet, it is breathtaking, if you don’t believe me have children (at the right time and when your married and over 16)
I don’t really think I truly appreciated these verses until the last nine days, we are fearfully and wonderfully made, crafted by a creator, for purpose, for His glory. We are created for relationship with the living God, we are not just offspring of some monkey and fluke of billions of years of evolution we would hold no value…
Perhaps this is why people do not value human life, murder, abortion, self harm, it is all the rage, but if we are just descendants of some monkey then so what?! What is a life anyway…
However if our identity is one that we are greatly valued, that we are created beings, created by a God who loves us and made us the pinnacle of His creation then to that there is value and glory to Him who loved us first.
So Evolution really?!? Nah didn’t think so…
